The work examines themes of community, pop culture, and the role of the art institution, by re-staging the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s album cover. Over the course of a three-month residency at Peacock Visual Arts, Shimizu and Renberg constructed the photo set and invited Aberdeen locals to participate as models, recruiting them through karaoke nights and rock film screenings.
